My computer desk
Just finished setting up my dual monitor supported computer desk. Looked at every desk in fry's electronics, best buy, circuit city, target, and walmart. Suprisingly this desk is a Sauder and only 40$. As soon as possible I'd like to get a 22" or 26" Widescreen HD1080 monitor and use it as my main screen, then put the LCD 1440X900 Widescreen where the CRT flat heavy space eating monitor is right now. Anyways here is my system, which pictured is burning "Religulous" to DVD, playing Pandora Radio, And running After Effects CS$ and 3DSMax 9.0 32 Bit Design Studio.
I'm running an ASUS QUAD CORE Q8200 with 4GB DDR2 Memory, a 1.5 Terrabyte harddrive, with a 500 GB secondary drive = 2.0 TB of harddrive, Dual Layer DVD Burner, (Love to get a Blueray player once I get an HD Monitor), and mouse pad is 18"X12" wow! When it gets cold I wrap up in my mouse pad:)Mouse has a 1600 DPI laser, and 6.1 THX Sound. (need a 6.1 speaker system tho). Anywhoo, time to put out some cool crap.

Actually all I need is about 35 seconds and youll be hooked. This is what kind of potential After Effects CS4, Flash, A projector, some shop lights, an empty wherehouse, a brilliant dude and some time has. WOW

Like the song playlists of an ipod, but are sitting at the computer? "I'll just use Itunes" you'll say to yourself. Wrong! Itunes will only play song you already have, but Pandora plays everything free:)!!!

Been a couple days.
Just been a few days since I posted. Wanted to say thanks to my pops for bailing me out yet another time. How many is that now dad? 640 you say? I believe it. Him and I,... we got an agreement. I screw up, and he forgives me and we move on. I try to screw up less and less, but I don't think I'm learning. This last time I didn't manage his company so well and it almost went under, twice. 1st time=not my fault, 2nd time=my bad. Picking myself back up as we speak. Feel terrible cause I had to let a good guy go. Wish things were different and this summer coulda been a blast. Anyways, Dad is gunna help out for a while and deposit some money, and we are gunna pay some bills and do a few more jobs and go day by day and see if we can get this wagon wheel out of the rut. Gunna take some effort on my part. Like tonight for example. I went to a brand new leak detection today in gilbert. I spent 3 hours puttering around in a backyard taking pictures of problems. Then, once home, compiled a huge 9 page report with details explainations and pictures and a bid sheet. It took 2 hours and as I do more I can start to use them like detailed templates. But I sat down for 2 hours and did it damnit. Up late but sacrifices must be made! Damn the rudders, full steam ahead! lol! Anyways, look for more soon:)

Obama's Speech
So I watched this video where Obama gets down and dirty and kinda goes on in a rant answers questions no on asks for about 4 minutes. Kinda got mixed messages. Either Obama is a really smart guy and is looking far into america's future and attempting to lay groundwork for a better future even in these depths of times, or he's a demon spawn in the shape of a man, spewing whatever lies need be said as he rides this atom bomb down from the atmosphere like a cowboy on a rodeo bull.. I can't tell. I'll withold judgement for now.

Cool Superbowl Commercial
I love the huuuuge effort on this commercial. Can you imagine how many manhours and coding it took to make all these insects in hi-res detail in a 3D program and then animate them all to complicated motion paths to create this commercial to look like reality?

BTW, there are lists showing the top ten favorites from the 2009 superbowl, and its all the budweisers and car commercials. thats dumb. these are the ones I think shoulda got favorites, but dont cause only artsy people like you the reader and me like it.
(I'm not a sellout I just think commercials take a lot of work and I respect them and the Artists that created them, to each his own.)
And yeah Those two guys are really good, cause they actually came up with this idea and arent directors or actors or ad guys or anything. They just threw 2,000 dollars together as a budget, filmed in in the best quality they could afford, and won a doritos commercial contest. Thats badass when you think about it.

the quality is so poor, it looks so dim cause its an avi. Just a quick demo I did in After Effects CS4. I tweaked the Particle Effect to appear to be boxes generating, however, normally the particles live then die. I tricked it into appearing constant by doubling my compositions and shifting one comp back in time 2.5 seconds. I then cut the comp size to 5 seconds.
That all took about 45minutes... I tried exporting it at this point and then I tried for a few hours to research on the net, figuring out how to get the 5 second movie to play endlessly in YouTube, but no dice. even importing to flash and converting from an FLV to a swf didn't work. I musta spent 3-4 hours trying to get the damn thing longer, then I slapped my forehead! So I went back in to AECS4 and made everything a new comp 5 sec long, then increased this new comp once into 30 seconds. I could now duplicate the new comp layer 5 times, and spread each 5 sec long layer sideways as each one before it ended. Voila! a demo reel displaying my name and phone # with cool particles, LOOPED! on YOUTUBE!!!
Also I the rotating 3D text object of my name and phone I beveled to appear 3D while spinning, but I also key framed in a directional blur to ease in and out so that it only blurs in the direction it spins, and clears up quickly anytime a side faces full front:) I made it rotate 360 degrees on the y axis but also the x axis by applying a 3D text object effect on them and then just key framing 0 degree to 359 degree rotations once every 5 seconds...just to make it interesting to watch...
The beat is a 6 second intro into a song from the band Yelle which I saw on Late night with Carson Daly the other night. I downloaded the song I heard, chopped 3.86sec of the intro beat, then time stretched it in Adobe Soundbooth to 5 seconds. I also cleaned it up a bit.
Had to export as an AVI tho cause YouTube failed to convert the Blu-Ray-.H264 format and the 1080I-HDMI .MOV format so I had to go with .AVI for ease. Sorry you cant watch full screen and high def, I tried guys. Thanks! Might make a good screen saver hah!
